MAPOON ROAD CREW

Mapoon's Road Crew is making the transition from a CDEP funded program to a mainstream enterprise. 

Under the leadership and guidance of Mapoon's Deputy Mayor, William Busch, the Crew have successfully won a series of major contracts, from mining giant Comalco, for construction and maintenance work on the Mapoon to Andoom section of the road to Weipa.

The Road Crew are currently working closely with Queensland's Department of Main Roads to bitumen a six kilometre section of the road, starting at the boundary of the Mapoon Shire and extending towards Town.
