MAPOON ROAD CREW

Mapoon's Road Crew is a Council enterprise. 

The Crew have successfully won a series of major contracts, from mining giant Rio Tinto Alcan, for construction and maintenance work on the Mapoon to Andoom section of the road to Weipa.

The Crew have also completed road works under a contract with Cook Shire Council.

The Road Crew are currently working closely with Queensland's Department of Main Roads to bitumen a six kilometre section of the road, starting at the boundary of the Mapoon Shire and extending towards Town.
